Jefferson County Attorney's Traffic Safety Program

Mike O'Connell, Jefferson County Attorney

As Jefferson County Attorney, I have implemented Drive Safe Louisville to provide a convenient, interactive way to resolve traffic tickets, without going to court. If you are eligible, Drive Safe Louisville allows you to review traffic laws and safe driving habits in the comfort of home, at your own pace, while increasing your awareness of driving and traffic safety. Complete the program and you will have no points against your license and no conviction of a traffic ticket on your driving record.

Most moving violations are considered for the program; however, the Jefferson County Attorney reserves the right to exclude applicants based on the seriousness of the violation, criminal history, and/or the number of past violations. Participants pay an administrative fee of $179.00 after being approved and no other fees or costs are assessed.

If you would like to be considered for the Drive Safe Louisville program, register below using your citation number where indicated. If you qualify for the program, you will be notified in an email within four days of your registration. It is important that you plan your time wisely because the program must be completed no later than 72 hours (3 days) before your court date.

If you are under the age of 18, before you can participate in the program, Kentucky law requires that you appear in court with the parent or guardian that signed for your license.
